This 1-day course is based on the Health and Safety Executive Guidance Document “HSG 245 Investigating Accidents and Incidents: A workbook for employers, unions, safety representatives and safety professionals”

INTRODUCTION

An effective incident investigation process:

  • Can ensure correct protocols are followed, in a timely manner, after an incident
  • Can assist in gathering the correct information for notifying key stakeholders
  • Will potentially reduce the likelihood of a similar incident recurring
  • Completed by competent investigators can reduce further loss from delays/down time

  • Understand and participate in a 4-stage Investigation Process – this includes Gathering Information/Analysing Information/Identifying Risk Control Measures/Action Planning and Implementation

At the end of the training, individuals will complete a multiple choice exam paper and upon successful completion will receive a Certificate in Incident Investigation.
