LOCATIONS: UK
PROJECT TYPE: Line Manager Training
The client identified inconsistency in how people-related responsibilities were being handled at line manager level.
Internal HR teams were increasingly drawn into matters that could have been managed earlier and informally, creating operational delay, avoidable escalation, and culture risk.
Managers required practical capability-building in core people practices — from feedback to early intervention, absence to conduct, and informal to formal management routes — in line with UK employment expectations, ACAS guidance, and ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures principles. The programme sought had to be engaging, practice-led, immediately transferable, and delivered without significant disruption to production schedules.
- Managers demonstrated increased confidence in difficult conversations
- Decision-making became more aligned across sites
- Improved operational responsiveness
- Managers gained clarity on their responsibilities and accountability
- Established inclusive team behaviours
- Delivery maintained productivity and allowed programme attendance around production demands
