Quensh HSEQ Advisor Wins Prestigious Award at IOSH Scotland Conference 2023

Rachel Hendron from Quensh HSEQ Specialists receives the President's Commendation Award from IOSH Scotland

Everyone at Quensh was delighted to receive some very good news from a valued member of our HSEQ team this month — a well-deserved recognition of the hard work and dedication she exemplifies.

Quensh HSEQ Advisor Rachel Hendron earned a prestigious honour at the annual IOSH Scotland Conference on 9th November 2023  — receiving the President’s Commendation Award from IOSH President, Lawrence Webb.

This was one of four special awards that were given out near the end of the dinner and awards ceremony, recognising the efforts of IOSH volunteers who work hard for their branch or sector group — something that Rachel has done with distinction since 2017, having joined their membership in 2015. In the 5+ years she’s been volunteering with IOSH, her roles have included Communications Coordinator, Secretary and Vice-Chair, and as well as the North East of Scotland Branch, Rachel has also been involved with the IOSH Offshore Group, of which she is now Group Chair.

While she was part of the planning team for the IOSH Scotland Conference and Awards Dinner itself, her surprise and joy at winning the President’s Commendation Award on the night was clear to all her fellow attendees. She was eligible for the award thanks to a nomination from a colleague within IOSH, which only adds to the prestige of Rachel’s win.

Reflecting on the night, Rachel said: “It came as a huge but pleasant shock to learn that I’d been nominated for this award. I volunteer with IOSH to help make a difference and it’s truly humbling to be presented with this award in recognition of my volunteering efforts. The icing on the cake was for the presentation to be made at the IOSH Scotland Conference by Lawrence Webb, the outgoing IOSH President who was in attendance at his last official event in the role.”

Quensh Managing Director, Andy James: “A huge congratulations to Rachel on winning the Award and for being recognised for her volunteering efforts on behalf of IOSH. This award truly reflects the amount of hard work and commitment she puts into everything she does, we are so proud to have Rachel as part of our team.”

Rachel has been part of the Quensh team since 2022, and was promoted to HSEQ Advisor in June 2023 — we’re hugely proud to have talented and committed people like Rachel on board.
