PROJECT TYPE: Incident Investigation Support – H&S Expertise with Quensh Advisory Partnership
Following a workplace accident involving manual handling equipment, a logistics and distribution company needed to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation. While the incident did not result in major injury, it had potential reporting implications under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR), and leadership were mindful of their duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
The organisation did not have an in-house Health & Safety specialist and required immediate access to expert guidance to determine reporting obligations, conduct a legally sound investigation, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and protect against enforcement risk from Health and Safety Executive (HSE). As an existing subscriber to Quensh’s Advisory Partnership, the client was able to access expert support instantly — eliminating delays at a critical stage of the incident response.
- Immediate expert intervention, reducing response time at a critical moment
- Legally robust investigation process aligned with statutory duties and best practice expectations
- Accurate RIDDOR decision-making, reducing risk of under - or over - reporting
- Reduced enforcement exposure through clear documentation and demonstrable corrective action
- Improved leadership confidence in handling serious workplace matters
- Stronger safety culture reinforcement, with visible follow-through and preventative action
- Cost-effective access to expertise without maintaining a full-time H&S resource
