PROJECT TYPE: Operational Health & Safety Support
Following a series of significant project wins, a major fabrication business at a deep-water energy park in Nigg, Ross-shire, needed dedicated, on-site “boots on the ground” health and safety support that it was unable to resource internally.
The business delivers major capital projects for the renewables and offshore energy sectors from one of the largest fabrication facilities of its kind in the region, with a substantial multi-discipline workforce operating across covered fabrication shops, quaysides and laydown areas. A rapid increase in awarded contract work created an immediate need for experienced operational H&S presence on site — but recruiting permanent in-house personnel into the role was not achievable within the timescales required.
Quensh was engaged to provide experienced safety advisors, fully embedded on site, to maintain consistent operational health and safety support throughout this period of heightened activity.
- Continuous on-site health and safety coverage was maintained
- Cost saving achieved by avoiding the overheads of recruiting
- A demonstrably improved safety culture across the workforce
- Safety advisors mobilised quickly to meet the demands of newly awarded contract work
- A flexible, fully managed resourcing model that scaled with the client’s operational workload
